On Sunday morning (8th May 2021) we had our service celebrating and praying for the work of World Development & Relief. Click on the title below and hear more about the department by watching the video…

WORLD DEVELOPMENT AND RELIEF SERVICE

PAY IT FORWARD in thanks for your vaccine
Many of us have received or will soon receive our free COVID vaccines (cost about £25). It will help us return to a new normal. However, this is not the case for many millions, especially in lower income countries.
The Methodist Church in Ireland calls upon all Irish Methodists to consider making a ‘thanks offering’ by giving a donation to Irish Methodist World Development & Relief in order to support our global development partners as they combat the effects of COVID on top of poverty and injustice in marginalised communities in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and South America.
The phrase “pay it forward” means that when someone does something for you, instead of paying that person back directly, you pass it on to another person instead. Blessing others because we have been blessed.
Visit www.methodistworlddevelopment.org and give thanks.
Or contact the office at worlddevelopment@irishmethodist.org
**Donations raised through Pay it Forward will go to support the work of WDR partners as they continue to combat the pandemic where they are. Our partners work in some of the world’s poorest communities in countries such as Zimbabwe, Lebanon, South Africa, Ghana, Nepal and Colombia.
Pay it Forward is not a campaign to pay for vaccines as this is not possible, but rather to help partners respond to new needs amidst the pandemic, as well as continue their particular focus e.g. water, education, agriculture etc.

90527397_1570335829785336_74519576666177536_oWe invite you to join together in a daily rhythm of prayer… Why not set an alarm to remind yourself to stop and pray. In so many ways, it is easy to feel helpless in this current crisis, but prayer invites us to have hope and faith in a God who is with us. So anytime you feel overwhelmed or helpless, cry out to God in prayer and plead for his intervention. Be expectant to see him at work.

  • We are privileged to have Cheryl Patterson as our minister. Cheryl came to us from Gorey, Co. Wexford where she ministered to a friendly active circuit.
  • Prayer is a rewarding and life enhancing conversation with God. But at times it can be difficult. You can feel isolated from others, running out of things to say and getting distracted.

Jesus encouraged his followers to pray regularly and discipline is needed to accomplish that. Daily prayers help by developing a habit.

If you would like us to pray for someone, use the Contact Us button above to let us know.

If you would like us to post a prayer, please use the Contact Us button above to send it to us.
